What is Open/Close Reporting? It helps business owners or managers track when their businesses are being opened/closed (armed/disarmed) as well as letting them know who is the first to arrive and last to leave. For example, imagine you are the manager of a bookstore but you took the day off; and when you came back the next day you see that the store had not been cleaned or closed down properly. You can use the open/close report to see who your closer was and when they closed the store. You can then see if there were any issues with closing, if an emergency happened, or if they were just being lazy and closed early without completing their work.
These reports can be on demand, ran on daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis to keep track of when and who are alarming and disarming; however, for this to run smoothly, each employee MUST have his or her own alarm code to arm and disarm your alarm system. This ensures that there are no mix-ups, or he said/she said about what actually happened and when. This is not only an everyday necessity, but especially helpful to owners who have multiple locations and cannot be everywhere at once. Logging in to check on each building/location is much more convenient than trying to rush around all morning stopping at each one.
- Open and Close Reporting has three plans to offer:
- Logging – Simply log the open and close data for you to access later
- Reporting – On demand or email reports daily, weekly or monthly with the open and close logs
- Supervised – SEi will call you if the system is not armed or disarmed according to a set schedule
While all three of these options are great, there is one we would recommend the most and that is Supervised Open/Close Reporting. This is because when something does go wrong, or if the store is not opened or closed at the set times you have, we get notifications, thus notifying you. This means if your store or business hours are set at 9am-9pm but we notice the doors were not disarmed until 9:15am, we will give you a call to make sure everything is okay, and to inform you of your staff not being there on time. The same for closing, if your closer should normally be alarming the system at 9:30pm after cleaning and closing but last night they armed at 10pm, we would notify you to make sure this is normal, see if there is an emergency, or other reason for a late closing. We would also notify you if a staff member who only has badge access Monday – Friday 9am-5pm, tries to scan in on a Saturday at noon for an unknown reason.
These easy to access reports help you establish patterns for those who may not be quite fitting for the role, identify recurring issues in the store/business, or help determine if hours need to be changed in order to accommodate staff.
They can be added to any SEi monitored system!
